This breed can hunt in almost any weather conditions, and they do very well at tracking old scents.

Characteristics

Bluetick Coonhounds are strongly built large dogs, and they are also very powerful. These dogs are a combination of suppleness, great stamina, compassion and self-assurance. They are very clever and bright, and they have a great sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds also have superb eyesight which gives them the capacity to hunt very successfully at night.
