Crying 9 month old Bichon reverting to urinating in his home

He was house broken then underwent castration about 5 weeks ago and for a fortnight after was peeing anywhere and everywhere including his bed. A scan showed enlarged prostate and a course of antibiotics sorted it.

Last monday had to have another general anaesthetic to check out lameness by xray on back leg. Now he is back to peeing everywhere!! What is going on? He can be standing right by me and without any warning will flood the floor! Is the anaesthetic the problem? Can't find anything helpful on the net. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Reluctant to go back to the vet, I'm sure he thinks I either fancy him or I'm suffering from Munchausens by Proxy.

To be honest I think your best bet is to phone your vet and get advice if they do it with your vets over the phone as I know mine does obviously if it is something they need to see then they will say to bring him in,

It does sound like anesectic related but obviously Im not vet therefore your best bet is to conact your local vet,
keep us informed about this.

Thanx Mac. Took my dog to vets today. Inconclusive result but they're on the case. The theories are Idiopathic Cystitis?? (I think thats stress related peeing) or a bacterial infection in the urinary tract that is proving hard to kill (probably set up when he was castrated). Gonna try antibiotics AGAIN if that fails they will draw off urine direct from the bladder and see if its grows anything in it in the lab. Good news he didn't charge me for this visit.
