Nailbiting Dog has diarhhea - I'm worried.

I have just got a dog (last Thursday) from a rescue home. He is a JR but I am worried. At first he was eating fine and drinking plenty. But for about the last 36 hours he has had diarhhea. He does go "normally", yesterday for a fair sized one and today a smaller one. But then after that he has liquid faeces. It is sometimes quite a bit (for a dog) and then it gets less until he presumably is empty. Its also rather smelly. He is also sneezing a bit. Other than that he is a quiet dog and does very little - he seems tired.
Could this just bedue to being unsettled by a new home or should I be worried that something else is wrong. He has not eaten much today but went for a walk where he defaecated as described above.

I'd get the dog to the veterinarian - and take in a fresh stool sample. Things to worry about are any sort of parasites. If the stool is particularly smelly and has some mucus and or blood in it, ask the vet to certainly check for coccidiae and giardia. These are nasty one cell protozoa that can create havoc in the dog's gut. The sneezing can also signal that the dog has either a kennel cough - or may be the start of something more serious. This isn't to be messed around with - get the dog to a vet asap....... leader

Hi
thanks for the reply. i will take him to the vets - the diorhhea appears to have stopped (2 normal stools yesterday) but he is still sneezing. i also notice a small sore on his sheath and so i tink that he needs to be looked at. many thanks.
