Dog strange house training. help urgently and desperately needed!

Please help!

I have an 8 month old lurcher who I rescued from a kennels in August. His house training is not going to plan and I am stumped! He knows not to urinate in the house and will hold himself until he is let out, pooing in the house is a completely different issue! During the day he is fine but first thing in a morning he just goes. His toileting routine goes as followed:

Walked at 3.30pm- he empties on his walk, I give lots of praise
Feed at 4.15ish when he gets back from walk
Let out to empty at around 7pm - he urinates
Let out at 9.30 - he completely empties
Bed time
This is where it gets strange
Get up and let out 5.40- empties completely, I let him out at this time to try to avoid him pooing in the house, if I leave it any later he poos. It is normal poo so he can hold it.
Walked at 7.30am - empties completely
Feed at 8ish am
Let out at 8.30 before work - urinates
Let out at 12 - urinates

I praise him every time he does it outside, I put him outside when he has done it in the house. He looks guilty when he does it in the house so he know!

This morning he had done 3 all before 6am, when I came to let him out (as I am attempting to stretch him) he was asleep! I just don't understand what is going on with him!

I am stuck and welcome any suggestions as I am willing to try anything!

Thank you,

PottyPip

Sounds like you're ready...but he's not! Take your time and don't rush this part of training. I know you're anxious to get him going outside all the time, but just as children learn at different times...so do puppies.
