Hello all,
Just joined this forum.. I am looking after my husband's 15.5 year old Dalmation as hubby is working away; only back alternate weekends.. Dalmation has had probs with incontinence for few months now.. does not seem to know when she wants to go. has back leg trouble, deaf and has cataracts with limited sight. Has developed very noisy gut, gagging, very very smelly flatulence, particularly bad in the evening.. omg.. stinks the house out. Examined by vet, who believes it is cancer after doing an internal examination of the 'rear end' - put her on Morphine & Zantac.. not helped much.. Doggie is often quite miserable. In spite of eating well has also lost weight and constantly looking for food. She was originally fed on Bakers complete but had to change from that as she was vomiting after each meal.. We put it down to age and now feed her tinned meat with cooked rice. The vet did suggest it best to let them go before it progresses too much.. that was my thought too.. but.. hubby will not do it as he sees it as murder.. I am lost as to what to do.. although I have previously had 2 doggies of my own.. Any advice would be very appreciated as this situation is making me depressed now. :-( |
