Default adopted greyhounds - please help!

Hi!
My name is Valentina, from Slovenia and I badly need advice on one of my adopted greyhounds. First excuse my english as i am not a native speaker I will surely make some mistakes ... so sorry in advance!

My husband and I have recently adopted two retired greyhounds. Lord has been with us since valentine's day and because of his anxiety problems (he would chew on things when left alone) we were advised it would be best to get another dog. We adopted Lady, a two-year-old greyhound, who never raced. We went to Modena to pick her up and from the first moment on we have noticed that she does not want to urinate when she is on a leash. We brought her home and the first thing she did was urinate in the hall. At first we thought it is just some stress related behaviuor because of the long journey and beeing in a new home but the problem just does not seem to go away. Since then (it has been almost two months now) we somehow managed to get her pee in the garden - but she always goes on the same spot and even has serious problems to go when we are watching her!!! When she does go (and we see her) we praise her like crazy and give her treats. We tried all sorts of things - staying out for literaly all day and she can barely walk because she needs to go pee but is still afraid to!Sometimes when we go into the woods and I can unleash them she does urinate, but always as far away from us as possible.
Please, can anyone give me some advice what to do to make this behaviour stop?I try to go walking in my garden with the leash on but she just does not go! Even if I only put on the collar she does not urinate!

Thanks for the advice

It sounds like you're doing the best you can, and I would take a very long term view as to resolving this particualr behaviour completely.

Do not punish her for accidents in the home...this can make it worse!

Keep up your efforts.

Nick
