Finally had the visit from Bettina - we had to re arrange due to the amount of snow we had last week! Very interesting and positive visit.

Have to get some kongs and fill them with food and some peanut butter (!), she brought one with her and Pauli loved it. Instead of feeding him from his food bowl once a day, feed him via the kings 3-5 times a day. Give him a Kong and then start to walk out of the room, if he stops being interested in the kong, go back, pick the kong up for a bit, then try all over again. He should then get the hint that the kong is more interesting than following me everywhere. Do this 3-5 times a day for the first week. Once he is no longer bothered about following me and is engrossed in the kong, pretend to get ready to leave and stand by the door, as soon as he leaves the kong then go back and sit down. Follow this routine and fingers crossed he should get better!
Other things - play hide and seek with food and get hime to learn the find command, this tirese him mentally.
Create a safe place for him - he has a bed but he doesn't use it at the moment, so when giving him the kong, get him to play with it in his bed.

Haven't put into practice yet as am waiting for the kongs to be delivered but will be starting next week hopefully - also need to stock up on peanut butter!

will update in a week or so with progress.

thanks again

Sounds very encouraging well done!

Be sure to keep Bettina up to date with your progress. The clients I have that are most likely to succeed are the ones that keep me well informed of any changes, so I can adapt my advice accordingly.

Well done again.

Best of luck.

Nick
