Default Help

I am looking after my Son's springer he is a year old,its the first time we have had him to look after. We have a Lab and acocker of our own.

Reggie the Springer, when ever he is at the door to go out either in the garden or for a walk will keep spinning round and round.
When goes for a walk we are putting on a harness that goes under his tow front legs for extra control as he does what we have called swimming along the road,he makes this terrible screaming noise all the way along the road till he gets to the open fields and is let off.
He is so loud in the mornings worried he is waking everyone up.
What needs to be done to help him he just wants to play all day, hes lovely really.
I don't think my son has been using the harness much just seems to take him in the car because of the problem, not the dogs fault. My Son doesnot like him wearing a collar in home we have him wear it while with us,easier to hold him when needed Any advice would be great we have him with us for another 10 days.I think he has improved a little but could do more. Best Wishes Sonia x

The training really needs to take place by the mainn owner for it to stick Sonia. however, in the mean time you could follow my two articles that will no doubt help:

Doorways. Keeping it calm.

Lead Pulling!

Come back with any questions.

What would you recommend for someone dog-sitting? I'm going away for a week and was going to leave my 7 month old collie cross with friends - should i have some training sessions with them before?
