This is quite normal...though not desirable to be fair, so I stop it i n it tracks with a clear and firm OFF!

Don't allow your dog to control or manipulate you in any way...this being one of them !

Oh, and the word is HUMPING!

Peace

I also have this problem with my 3 year old spayed female pug. I've read up alot on it, though I'm still not sure what her problem is. She only does this with me and she does it to my arm. She used to start by licking my arm, but now she just jumps up and begins to hump. I have noticed though that she only does this when she is excited about what is going on in the environment...dogs playing, kids yelling and laughing, dogs barking on tv, etc. I'm wondering if she gets overwhelmed by all the excitement that suddenly she needs to try to show dominance over me, her alpha. When she does this, I don't get all hyper about it. I just turn and face her and say "Lila, what are you doing?" This seems to break her attention and she seems to almost get embarrassed and gets down. I have read that it could be obsessive compulsive...i don't know...maybe?
