Default Springer Spaniel 'traits'?

Hi all, I have a 9 month old ESS. Generally a great little dog, loves me to bits, always by my side, playful, calms down when told. No complaints for the age of pup.

There are a few weird things however, she tends to urinate a lot without reason. For example if I call her over when at home on the sofa she may dribble all the way or run in a circle while dribblin as if she's in trouble?

Has anyone come across this or methods to cure it as such?

Thanks

This is called submissive urination. They often grow out of it. Important not to make a deal of it so as not to heighten the dog's anxiety in any way. Even my male will do this aged 16 months especially if he needs a wee and is being fussed by a neighbour say.

Keep your greetings very low key and calm to help her relax a bit more.

So,

1) She'll grow out of it
2) Make no scenes when she does it.
3) Address your greetings, make them calm & quiet.

HTH,

Nick
