Default Barking outside

Hello, I have a cocker spaniel, approx 8 years old, rescue dog, coming up 3 years now. He has a lovely temprement and is fully house trained.

One problem! For months now when let him out in the garden he runs around barking. Sometimes it is the occasional bark other times constant. He is never left alone out there and we do play with him. Hes becoming a nuisance.
As we work shifts he can be out there very late or very early so I am conscious of the neighbours.
Also, he is completely DEAF! So he can't even hear the noise hes making!

Kerry

Default Visiting family houses

Hello, I have a deaf cocker spaniel, approx 8 years old, rescue dog, coming up 3 years now. He has a lovely temprement and is fully house trained.

When visiting various family members, although he knows these people, it takes him hours to settle down in their houses. He will be up constantly walking and panting around and if they have a garden trying to get out there, where he will then just bark and walk over ornaments and flowerbeds rather than just keeping to the main grassed areas.
Before visiting he is always walked.

Hi Kerry,

It's difficult to know online but he sounds rather stressed hence the panting and pacing.

Are you doing any training with him?

When did the problems suddenly appear?

Has there been any significant change in your / his life recently? Change of regime / food etc?
