Dog Hello to everyone.

Hi everyone,

Just come across this forum on the internet and thought I would join up.

I have 2 Rottweilers, a bitch called Buffy as in Buffy the Vampire Slayer who is nearly 10yrs old and was recently diagnosed with bone cancer! Sadly the vet came not operate to remove front limb as she has severe arthritis in all her other joints so all we can do is keep her comfortable. My other Rottie is a rescue dog who was 7 months old when we got him and is nearly 1yr old now and his name is Gucci. He came with that name and was stressed out enough without having a name change on top. He is a large boy and is still growing by the day. Having been in rescue centre he is lacking in social skills and lead training.

I have tried choke chains, halti, harness to no avail. He lunges at bikes, motor bikes and some people. Now I have seen a few shows of Victoria Stilwell and she has used a head collar, and on the internet there is one made by Dogmatic which costs aroung £25 does any one know if there are any good or if any one can recommend one that will not come over the eyes or becomes loose and needs adjustment all the time like the halti did.

Sorry if first post is a bit long winded.

Hello Linda and welcome!

Head collars can help you gain control of a strong dog, but do bare in mind it won't resolve the problem.

Consider one to one help maybe?

Best wishes,

Nick
