after readind this thread late last week I noted that Bakers & Pedigree are not much good, I had gotten for my now 8 month old Female border colliee Pedigree and Bakers.

I looked around for other dog foods and got Robbies Holistic Cuisine, made in Ayrshire Scotland.

Its a sort of muesli with either chicken or Lamb and Brown rice with other good things. There is no Soya, anti - this or that or any things you dont want in dog food.

I also got Royal Canin food, its very good too.

Of the two, she realy likes the Robbies food, having said that, she also likes the royal Canin a lot too, but the robbies has the edge on her fav. food.

Peace

Research home cooking for your dogs. There is lots of info on the net in regards to what they need and how much daily in regards to size. I home cook for mine and they love it...also, because I'm making it for them, I know everything that is going into it. My dogs are prone to terrible allergies, so this helps me keep the itching down. It can be quite easy and not at all expensive if you learn how to keep the costs down.

In my opionion the like of bakers and pedigree should not be allowed to be sold, it is so full of rubbish!

I feed my dogs on a raw diet and they have no allergies, solid stools, good breath, nice teeth and are not hyper.

Bye

I also feed my dog raw meat diet, this was suggested to us by our trainer from Bark Busters - we have never looked back.
When they were puppies we used the science plan and that worked well but after researching the raw food diet the advantages were clear. There are a few websites worth looking at, it may be more expensive than your bakers or pedigree but its worth it in health terms for your dogs.
I am also surprised your vet suggested these as most vets are against this type of food due to the artificial colours etc.

Good luck to you and your dogs.

I'm not surprised a vet recommended these foods, in my experience vets usually go for big name brands.

Default puppy food

what is the opinion on Pets at Home Advanced Nutrition Puppy with lamb dry food? It's about £33 for 10 kg?

Not a high one.

Look at the ingredients. If I'm correct, you want to stay away from ingredients such as Corn, Meat Meal and byproducts. If the first ingredient is "Corn" then you won't want it.
