I think the female is better for smaller children and are more friendly in temperament according to many.

But as for personality differences i think it just depends on which you like when you see them in person.

I have had 2 Staffy dogs in the past and both were great with all kids.I don't think the gender is as important as the dog's demeanour. If you are getting the pick,I would just advise you to go for the happiest boldest pup.

research for information on different breeds, i think bitchs have better temperments but it all comes down to how you train the puppy as well.

I'm quite interested in knowing what you choose in the end and why
Staffys can be so lovely and its a shame that they get such bad press!

Just remember, whatever you decide, you need to make sure the dog feels part of the pack/family, and is involved with the children as much as possible.

Hi

Would the breeder be able to recommend a puppy? As they know each pups individual personality better than anyone else, perhaps a nice naturally submissive bitch. Quite laid back, not a dominant one who may be harder to train with small children. But in my own experience i would suggest a bitch, aslong as you think you can cope with seasons and keeping her away from males until she is old enough to spay.

Hope this helps
