Default Should I or shouldn't I?

I am thinking of getting a miniture Yorkshire Terrier puppy as I have just lost my cat, he was knocked over.

I live in a flat, do work full-time but would walk the pup before and after work.

I would like to get a second opnion on this before I go and get one as dont want to be cruel and make the dog unhappy!!

Surely most people in today's world goes out to work all day??

The dog would have a large balcony to go out on and my friend said that she would pop by in the afternoons to check on it!!

Thanks

If you get a pup then it will get used to being home alone as long as you leave enough fresh water for it then it should be fine.My dog is at home alone whilst I and hubby work he has been fine, even if you want an older dog make sure it doesn't have anxitiy about being alone. If there is toys to entertain them and enough fresh water available then should be no problems especially if neighbour gonna check on it.
