Default Tolieting 50/50

Hi

I have a 14 week old yorkie puppy. In a play pen is uses his mat everytime. I have now moved him to the kitchen with a baby gate across the door. I have placed his pads by the door and he was using them, but he has started going on the kitchen floor! its now 50/50 if he will use his mat or not. I want to start taking him outside but I ordered a harness for him and with the recent uk postal strikes it has not arrived. Also he goes for a poo like 15 times a day, so it really hard to have him out around the house as he poos nearly all the time. the breeder told me to free feed him, would this be why?

Any advice would be great.

Not sure about the free feeding issue but if you do it in time then maybe it'll be easier to know about when he should need to go.

If you can see him when he goes and goes in the right place, then you can praise him highly. If not then pick him up and place him in the right place when he goes to toilet. Don't punish him for going in the wrong place, this will confuse him whether he should go at all or not.

Hope it helps and hope it isn't too late
