Puppy hates other dogs!!

We are delighted with our 5 month old puppy - she is a Jack Russell/Bischon frise cross. Fantastic with people - very loving and just a bundle of fun. Unfortunately though we had quite a delay in taking her outside as she developed kennel cough within a week of us having her and we kept her in until she was completely free of her cough (2 months). So because of this delay has had very little interaction with other dogs - and now we are able to take her out (always on the lead however!) - she will either snarl and growl - or squeal and jump at at me. Not sure if it's aggression or fear! - really don't know how to approach this as I don't wont her to become so unsociable that we keep her in but on the other hand taking her for a walk is now becoming a bit nerve racking! any suggestions gratefully received!! thanks Lizzi

You could try gradually increasing contact with other dogs to get the pup used to it. If that doesn't work, try a behaviour therapist as they know their stuff!
