Hi All
We picked up our 8 week old boxer pup today. She wasn't sick on the journey home, and has gone to sleep in her very large crate in her basket. the breeder has kept her away from her mum for a while, and more recently away from her siblings as she was being bullied. She is used to a crate etc, so I'm not too worried on that score. What I'm not sure about is toileting. She always went in her pen, on newspaper as the breeder was very strict about diseases etc and not being vaccinated yet. SO, my three questions: She has done one wee, on her paper which is in her crate, and went back to her basket. Should we be putting her out to wee from tomorrow (when I can get her a collar and lead). Or do I continue with the newspaper until she's had all her jabs? She's not eaten anything, taken a bit of water of a finger. is this normal? Her food came from the breeder so we're not trying to introduce anything new. She just seems to want to sleep, her crate is in the kitchen, which is lovely and warm, but she sleeps through the chaos of our house (4 and 2 year old daughters). Is this normal? will it mean she will be awake all night, like with babies? Sorry for all the waffle, just want to get it right in my head from day one....... Ruth |
