Which breed?

Hi , we own a 3yr old male neutered beagle and have had him 6 mnths now. We are thinking of getting a friend for him and would like some advice on what breed to go for. We would like a medium sized dog, that doesnt need haircuts !!! Any help- on this would be grateful.

I think Jack Russles are beautiful

But you could go into your local rescue centre and see what they have in, theres loads of dogs that need a good home Its so sad

How is your dog with other dogs?
What's the worst habit he has?

Bare in mind that older existing dogs will encourage another dog to follow suit...for better or worse.

Also Google for something like 'dog selection questionaire' and quite a few come up

cocker spainel are one of the breeds that are nice
wippets are one of the best of breed but they are ofally chilly and shakey
you could also get the same breed

My behavourist that i spoke to about getting another dog along side mine said it was important if you want them to get along is to have them as different as possible, e.g different size breed, gender and age is the best.
I hope this helps, also phone a behaviourist to see there point of view on this as it worked with mine i had a year and half old male westie with an 8 week old female border collie.
