History
The Havanese has its origin from Cuba. It is also known as the national dog of Cuba. At some stage, these dogs were very popular with the ruling classes in Havana. The breeding of these dogs in the United States only started in the 1970’s. During the 1960’s many Cubans started to migrate to the United stated, and some ended up bringing their pets with.
Characteristics
The Havanese dog is a true delight. The Havanese is very bright and clever, curious, and playful. This breed loves companionship and adores children. The Havanese is good watch dogs who will alert their family to danger or visitors. They will look to their family for assurance before welcoming strangers. Once they make friends with someone they are friends for life.
Temperament
The Havanese is a toy dog, and although they are small, they have very big personalities. These are dogs that are very fond of playing, and they adore the company of their owners. Care
