History
Many people believe that the Mi-Ki is a fairly new breed that has been developed in the latter part of the 1980s by a woman by the name of Micki Mackin. She was originally from Milwaukee in Wisconsin. At first she started to develop a breed of small dogs that had their origin from the Papillon, Japanese Chin, Maltese and the Shih Tzu. Regrettably she did not keep records of the breeding, and therefore not all the details of the combinations of the breeds are known.
Characteristics
The Mi-Ki is an excellent companion dog with a very sweet nature. In general they are very peaceful, sweet. This breed also extremely loves toward people and other animals. This breed also makes wonderful therapy dogs.
Temperament
The Mi-Ki is a very clever dog that has a very calm and sweet nature. These dogs are very affectionate, and they are not overly active dogs. This breed is very friendly and watchful, and they are also very good companions for people that are handicapped. These dogs are very relaxed, and do not bark very often. Mi-Ki's are very even balanced dogs and they are very good therapy dogs. These dogs are also very fond of kids.
Care
These dogs can be combed with a wire comb once during the week in order to get rid of all dead hear. This breed should only be bathed when it is really necessary. All the excess hair between the toes and around the pads of the dogs should be removed in order to reduce any health problems. Mi-Ki's sheds almost no hair. Training
Seeing that these dogs are very clever, they train very easy. This is for all disciplines such as potty training, obedience training and even agility training. These dogs will happily adapt to any lifestyle, and many see them as the perfect dog breed.
